<p>Be your own trainer and nutritionist, the basic rules to losing weight are no soda, no fast food, lots of chicken, fish, fresh (not canned that’s bad) fruits and vegies, whole wheat stuff, yogurt. Not so many cakes and donuts and cookies. Basic common sense for eating, you just need to enforce it. Get all the bad stuff out of the house right away, just toss it or give it away while your still motivated. No alcohol and no smoking  if that applies. Some juice but make sure its all natural, because the ones that aren&#8217;t are loaded with sugar and a leading cause in diabetes in children and adults. Lots of water, 3-4 liters a day, not all at once, but spread it out. Its really easy to down a liter or two while your watching tv or on the computer. Also drink some after you eat the bigger meals of the day, it helps your body pick out the nutrients in food when your food is more spread apart.  You also need to stay away from any sports drinks unless you’ve just had a long workout and then you need to limit yourself.  Most atheletes mix Gatorade with water because its two  complex for your body to get all the nutrients out of.  It needs to be diluted.  These rules may be hard to adapt to at first so start with cutting out the things you know you can live without.  Then work from there.  Remember these are  perfect eating habits, it can take you a while to work into it.  If you know you can’t live without your one treat a day, don’t fight it by trying to eat something else, just eat it and make sure that’s the only one you cheat on a day.  Otherwise you’ll get depressed and quit.  Another important point is getting the right amount of sleep every night.  You need 8-9 hours of sleep each night for your body to function correctly.  This is an important factor of losing weight.  Set up a routine for yourself and go to bed at about the same time each night.<br />
As for exercise, lots of cardio. Find something you like. If you have never exercised much before, start with walking 30 minutes a day at a brisk pace. Move on to different terrains that include hills and increase the time spent. After a week or two, try jogging the route. No matter what find an activity you enjoy. Walking to jogging is just an example, try hiking, rollerblading, biking. Once you get into a regular routine, if your not happy with the level of difficulty, try signing up with a gym. Spinning, pilates or kickboxing classes are great. It will also introduce you to working with weights. Talk to a trainer for instruction before using any weights. A cheap investment is a balance ball, it works you stomach while your just sitting on it, like at your computer and its great for posture. <p>There are plenty of ways to lose weight &#8211; but be sure you are not losing it too quickly.  Losing more than a pound a week is really too fast and you are likely to gain it back &#8211; whether you win the contest or not.  </p>
<p>Now &#8211; onto how:<br />
Of course there&#8217;s the eating healthier . . . it&#8217;s a must.  Eat breakfast every morning (proteins in the moning like meat or eggs is a great energy boost and you are less likely to be hungry after a couple hours). Increase your intake of anything green (lettuce, broccoli, green beans, etc) and don&#8217;t eat anything after 7pm.  If you drink alcohol &#8211; cut it out completely to avoid taking in filler calories. </p>
<p>Activity is the other key component but that doesn&#8217;t mean you have to run a mile every day. Swimming is a great exercise.  Walking works well too (and the dogs will love you for it).  Many homes have game consoles now . . . so turn on the PS2 and start playing Dance Dance Revolution.  I am currently doing that now and it&#8217;s a lot of fun as well as a great workout. The game even has a workout mode that tracks your weight, calories burned, miles jogged while playing etc.  </p>
<p>Whatever you chose do to . . . make it fun for you.  Healthy living is more than a six month competition (though it sounds like fantastic motivation).  Develop a healthy lifestyle and enjoy the ride!</p>

<p>The most effective way to lose weight is small changes in your lifestyle, limiting your calories, and CARDIOVASCULAR EXERCISE.</p>
<p> I cannot stress that last part enough. That is what will burn fat. You need at least 20 minutes in a session to see results, 30 is better, 40 is great. Pick something you enjoy (hiking, swimming, cycling, jogging, etc.)</p>
<p>Make small changes to your eating habits &#8212; choose water over soda at dinner. Replace white bread with wheat bread. Snack on low-fat popcorn instead of chips.</p>
<p>Park the car at the far end of the lot instead of the closest space. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.</p>
<p>Limit your calorie intake&#8230;go figure out your Basal Metabolic Rate, and aim for 500-1,000 calories less than that. Don&#8217;t eat less than 1000 calories per day, this will not help you lose weight but have the opposite effect!</p>
<p>Overall, fad diets don&#8217;t work and neither does strictly weight-training exercise. </p>
<p>1-3 pounds a week is healthy weight loss.</p>

<p>areobic exercise of any kind specifically burns fat. fat cannot be lost in one specific area of the body. it is lost throughout the body at different rates it cannot be targeted specifically for one area without liposuction thats not how our bodies work. but having more muscle mass burns more fat just by being muscle. if your worried that by doing resistance training your going to look less feminine , dont. unless your shooting testosterone or other steroiods, it is impossible for a female to do anything but look like a really healthy inshape woman with resistance training. too many woman use the excuse or worry that they will look more masculine  with resistence training, it cant happen without the amounts of testosterone men make. btw the best fat burning muscle making exercises are those that use the most amount of muscles, like squats ,deadlifts, bench press, and shoulder pressing in that order of effectiveness. oddly losing fat on your arms and shaping up muscles in women and just growing bigger arm muscles in men will best develope by squating (not leg presses , they use far fewer muscles) . squating causes the body to go into an anabolic state. an anabolic state is one that the body releases muscle building/fat burning hormones. the best bet would be to pick up a copy of womens muscle and fitness, find a regimen you can follow including at least 3 days a week of resistence full body training, and every other day of aerobic   training. otherwise youll be in a disappointing losing battle trying to target arm fat with arm exercises, the last fat to go on the body is also the last fat to come off the body, good luck. looking good is a lifestyle not a quick fix.</p>

<p>Well first a good idea is to run for like a half hour a day, as fast and far as you can without stopping a lot. And if you do that everyday it will help you a lot, my pants were getting loser in like a week or so. So that may help, and to help more you could run with ankle weights on so it will help build more muscle to burn calories. Also when i run i do exercise before hand, i do about 50 push ups and 100 crunches and stretch. You could start out smaller, and stretching before and after will help prevent you from being sore so you can continue the next day. To help you can also increase your number of stuff weekly so you are helping more to build. And you could also do the crunches like 3 times a day making three hundred crunched a day which will help a lot with your stomach area if needed. I also used to run before school which could also help. Another thing is dont drink a lot of drinks like soda and stuff. Water is the best to stick with, considering you will not gain calories, this will also give you room to eat a little more if you are calorie counting.</p>
<p>If you are counting calories, you can take 500 calories away from your eating like you said. Also to help eat less, use smaller plates, and eat a small snack about a half hour before you eat. That will help make you less hungry, as long as it is something with not a lot of sugar, like an orange. You could also eat special K which is supposed to help you be healthy.</p>
<p>I also made a chart for when i ran and stuff. I put the time i ran, the distance, and the date. I also put how many crunches and push ups i did.</p>
<p>I think that if you dont over exert yourself and eat healthy and not starve yourself, you will be getting thinner before you know it! =] And you may not lose all those pounds by then but you will be happy with your results, and you may look 40-45 pounds less and that weight could be partly muscle. well good luck!! =]</p>

<p>listen KB if your boyfriend hasn`t seen you for 2 months I doubt it very much if he will be looking to see how flat your stomach is, his mind will be on other things! However if you really have to try and make yourself feel better, just cut out the high fat, high sugar foods, eat porridge for breakfast (made with skimmed milk) and a handful of sultanas, eat a bowl of chopped salad with a small chicken breast (or any lean meat or fish) for lunch, and fruit with natural yoghurt for after, for your main meal eat fresh steamed  fish and vegetables, have another piece of fruit as a snack. Cut out the fizzy drinks and drink fresh water, limit your tea or coffee to just two drinks per day (if you have it) do not forget to drink 2 &#8211; 2 and a half litres of fluid in total per day (including tea, coffee etc). Go swimming if you can for at least half an hour every day or walk briskly for at least half an hour every day after your main meal Good luck and stop worrying he will just be looking forward to seeing you again!</p>
